DSH TEST

„Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang - German Language Exam“

In order to be admitted to a German university international students have to pass a German Language Exam before enrolment

The DSH (German Language Exam) follows common gudilines and is written centrally at the universities.

The Examination is ruled in Europe through the DSH-Order generally and consits in common of the parts:

- Listening Comprehension (“Hörverstehen“)

- Reading Comprehension (“Leseverstehen“)

- Text Produktion (“Textproduktion“)

- Understanding of academical language structures of study and science (“Grammer“)

(“wissenschaftssprachliche Strukturen (Grammatik)“)

Within the scope of this framework, some individual universities join the points Text Produktion

and Grammer to one point. The universities are themselves responsible for setting

the exams

The marks of DSH is divided into three levels:

- DSH 1 (57 %)

- DSH 2 (67 %)

- DSH 3 (82 %)

After passing the examination sucessfully you will

have on of these degrees on your certificate which

prooves your German skills.

Every DSH-Certificate after the Common

European Standard should show on of these marks.
